Best Value Bean to Cup Coffee Machines
If you're ready for a hands-off, one-press latte that's fully customisable this is the machine for you. For more details, read our Beem Espresso Grinder Profession review.
Its hoppers can be swapped to let you try different blends at the drop of a hat and its profiles mean you can pick up exactly where you left at. It's also less expensive than capsule machines and uses real beans instead of pre-ground.
1. Smeg BCC02
This sleek compact and striking machine, created by Milan-based firm Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with the latest technology. It is able to handle every step of the coffee-making process - from grinding beans and tamping them into a puck to texturing milk and dispensing the correct amount of coffee - meaning you can create barista-quality hot drinks by pressing one button.
The machine also features an attractive brushed aluminum front and is available in black, red or taupe, so it'll easily fit into the majority of kitchen designs. The machine does not come without flaws, however. Most reviewers found that it was a bit expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and isn't equipped with the milk pitcher).
There were also many glowing reviews about the machine's ease of use and the quality of the coffee. The digital display provides feedback and step-by-step directions throughout the entire process of brewing which will allow you to perfect your drink every time. The machine can even instruct you to adjust the size of your grind in case that's not what you prefer. It's like having a personal barista in your own home (minus Harry Potter's invisibility cloak and Elon Musk's rocket-building skills).
If you prefer milky drinks this model has an adjustable steam wand in both directions to accommodate most drinking vessels short of a Viking's drinking horn. We were also amazed by the speed and efficiency in how the frothing was accomplished. It also makes an amazing espresso with great crema and a full flavor despite its compact size.
The BCC02 is a fantastic all-rounder that's quiet, effective and provides great value for money at its current price of PS499. Its only real flaw is that it doesn't provide the same level of customization as other bean-to-cup machines that we have examined. It has a pump that has 15 bars instead of the usual 19 bars. This is not enough for producing top-quality espressos. This is a fantastic machine for those who prefer their coffee dark and strong. Click here to see Lavazza's fantastic deal.
2. Melitta Barista TS Smart
The Barista TS Smart has a range of characteristics that distinguish it from the competition. Its most unique feature may be the fact that it is able to be controlled via your smartphone using the Melitta Connect App. This allows you to change the settings and dispense various coffee recipes stored in the machine.
This makes the machine very flexible and adaptable to suit your personal preferences. There are a variety of options to alter the intensity of your drink, cup sizes and even whether you want milk added. The machine has two airtight containers of beans that are automatically chosen to accommodate different tastes. The machine will default to using standard espresso beans and cafe creme, which is a German variant of flat white or long black. But, you can select any beans you want. There's also a handy chute for coffee that has been ground if you'd prefer to use your own (for instance in the event that your dinner guest brings their own).
Users have also been impressed by the speed of the machine. They have reported that it is able to make their drinks much faster than other machines they've used. Another bonus is that the machine will alert you when one of its hoppers is almost empty, so that you aren't caught running out of your favourite drink.
The only thing that may be a disadvantage for certain people is the price tag. This machine is not cheap, at nearly PS999. It is still cheaper than comparable Jura machines that have similar features.
Barista TS smart is backed by a two-year guarantee. This is more than the typical one-year guarantee, so it is a indication of trust from the manufacturer. The machine comes with a cleaning tablet and descaler. This makes it easy to maintain the machine. This is a fantastic machine for those looking for a high-quality and versatile bean-to-cup machine that's affordable.
3. Jura GIGA 6
The Jura GIGA 6 is a powerful espresso machine that utilizes artificial intelligence to produce the finest specialty coffees. It learns your preferences and rearranges the coffee menus to make it easier for you to choose your favorite drinks. It also lets you select your preferred size of grinding, water temperature, and the amount of foam in your coffee and milk. The smart rinsing, cleaning and sanitizing programs are activated by pressing the button. This makes the maintenance of your coffee machine easier than ever.
The unique thing about the Giga 6 is that it comes with two milk and coffee Spouts, allowing it to create two different coffee recipes at once. This is possible due to the dual fluid and heating systems inside the machine. The spouts are adjustable for the width and height in order to accommodate different cups. Additionally, there is a spout to pour hot water that can be used for tea or iced coffee.
The Giga 6 comes with a unique feature: you can duplicate and customize your favourite coffees. This is particularly useful when you drink the same beverage in the in the morning and at night. For instance, you could create an original flat white using regular beans and then a duplicate using decaf. You can change the ingredients, such as the kind of milk you use or the amount sugar or cocoa.
Both the Giga 6 and Z10 come with an amazing array of customization options. To begin, you can choose from 28 one-touch specialty drinks. You can also adjust the strength of the coffee and select from 10 different levels of milk foam.
The GIGA 6 and Z10 come with a 4.3 inch touchscreen display website with full-color and a rotary switch that makes it easy to navigate the various features of the machines. The only issue with this machine is that a few users have complained about drip tray leaks. If you experience this problem then contact the customer support team right away.
